WORKOUTS
Workout Introduction
How to use - choose between Home; Gym or Hybrid
The website provides workouts that have worked for me and primarily a source of information for friends who are interested in what I do myself and a place to share my thoughts and experience.
Under the workouts section you will find a range of standard workouts based on your average gym and home set up. Bodyweight only if you’re in a pinch or travelling for work or a hybrid workout (home & gym) for your hybrid working setup. The workouts are what I do myself and sharing common set-up, structures, reps and rest periods along with a sprinkling of cues and thoughts to aid the workout.
If there was one piece of advice that would guarantee the results you crave it would be consistency. Dipping in and out whenever you feel like it just isnt going to cut it and you’ll be left disappointed. But its hard to be consistent when something is hard and that is why the beginner workouts are designed to be achievable with (fairly) little effort. I would classify a beginner as someone who hasn’t worked out consistently (at least 4 times a week) for over a year. More likely than not, strength training consistenty over that period of time you are bound to see results.
But if you’re not seeing the results I hear…well doing the workouts is actually the easy part. You’ll need to consider what’s happening outside the gym. Are you eating well? Sleeping? Stressed? All these factors have an effect on muscle growth so identify where you can optimise and then implement.
Technique comes a close second and admittedly its hard to know if you’re moving correctly without an experienced trainer giving you real time feedback. The next best thing is to film yourself and either post on various forums for feedback or you can ask me here.
Overall this website is meant to a source of information that I have learned over the past 15 years sweating and grunting it out in the gym. In it, you will also find my experiences as a beginner in other forms of fitness - namely running and calisthenics. I hope you’ll find that your strength, well-being and aesthetics end up being a byproduct of simply enjoying the process and accepting the long-term nature of this journey. I’ve gained so much joy - through increased confidence and vitality that I truly hope others feel this way too. I hope you find something useful here!
